Bedroom with a striking headboard
I wanted this bedroom to feel like a proper little cocoon — the kind of space you walk into and instantly breathe out. It’s very much my mix of sustainable bits and that new‑old style I love, where everything feels warm, lived‑in, and a bit personal.
The soft blue walls were my starting point. They set this calm, easy backdrop that makes the whole room feel serene straight away. The velvet headboard I made became the anchor — it’s bold without shouting, and the texture adds that cosy, comforting moment I always gravitate toward. Then there’s the painted chest of drawers and the layered kilim rugs, which bring in colour and personality. They add that slightly eclectic, collected‑over‑time vibe that makes a room feel like someone actually lives there.
The lighting is intentionally soft and diffused, so the room glows gently whether it’s day or evening. Everything — the fabrics, the colours, the textures — was chosen to make the space feel snug, restorative, and very “me.” It’s a retreat, but one with character and warmth woven into every corner.
